Welcome to Serra Little LeagueAnnouncements:Majors
and Minors tryouts have been postponed a third time due to rain and field closure. The new tryout
date is TBD. For more details go to tryouts. Late registration can also be done at tryouts or by emailing registration@serralittleleague.com. Juniors tryouts have been postponed due to rain and field closure. The new tryout
date is Tuesday, 2/9 at 4:30PM. For more details go to tryouts. Note from the President: Parents & players, As I’m sure
you’re all aware, the unusually wet weather this year has saturated the playing fields, which has resulted in the City
temporarily closing all athletic fields, until they have time to dry out. Due to these conditions, we have had to postpone
try-outs twice before, and unfortunately, will have to do so again this weekend. With the rain we received last night, and
more rain the forecast for Saturday, the fields will not be available for use. Although we would all love to get the teams
formed, and the season underway, the safety of the players is our primary concern, so we have no choice but to wait for suitable
playing conditions to hold our try-outs. Please be assured that we are continually monitoring field conditions, and working
closely with the Sunnyvale Parks Department, so that as soon as conditions improve, we will notify you of the new try-out
dates. We will continue to target each weekend in February for try-outs, and adjust as field closure information becomes available
(it’s literally a day-by-day process). We understand that February is a busy month, and some of you may be out of town
for school break, but we will arrange to have a make-up date for players who are unable to attend the scheduled try-outs.
So please bear with us, and we’ll keep you informed as conditions develop. Every few years, we have a wet January/February,
which gets us off to a slow start…but it always works out, and the season begins on schedule. Thanks for your patience! Alan Bahr President Serra Little League
